Project Description: The Instructional Enhancement Initiative course materials was increased to $8 dollars per credit hour within the College and the School of Engineering and implemented for all UG lecture courses in units offering undergraduate courses beginning Winter 2012. The IEI produces an estimated $13 million per year of which $1.6 million per year is devoted to a shared online environment which facilitates information sharing, collaboration and additional forms of communication and broadens access to materials, archives, and discussion. The shared environment increases scheduling flexibility allowing students to hear, review, and/or participate outside the constraints of the classroom. Data collection, assessment and reporting procedures and a governance structure that address stipulations by the Student Fee Advisory Committee have been established to ensure benefits to the students and to the faculty.
